Archiving Commodore Tiff's History of the PYC (from the 2023-2025 version of the website)
It began with an inner tube and a peach basket... Back in 1959 Piseco sailors Don Wilcock, George Ramage and George Brownlow noticed each other skippering over the lake in their sailing Comets and Rebels, and as anybody could have predicted, a race broke out. Temporary buoys, cobbled together from inner tubes and peach baskets, hit the water in 1960 and on July 1, 1961, the Piseco Yacht Club was born. It’s been running races every year since, with an ever-evolving cast of boa

Archiving Commodore Tiff's Welcome Letter from 2023 version of the PYC website
Welcome Sailors! My name is Tiff Ford and I am the 2023-2024 Commodore of the Piseco Yacht Club. The title of commodore sounds impressive, but it’s a small club. The Piseco Yacht Club is a fun, relaxed sailing club that started in 1961. We have different levels of sailing skills, but we share a love for Piseco Lake, sailing and camaraderie. While Sunfish and Flying Scots are the most common sailboats in the club, our handicap scoring system allows any sailboat to participate
